The FDA has recalled twenty six over the counter eye drops. Currently there are no reported infections, but the FDA recommends you should discard immediately. The products are being removed from store shelves. Here’s the complete list of the eye drops.
Many people use over the counter tears for relief from dry eye. Dr. Boehm, cornea specialist, suggests, “It may be best to stick to name brand products (Refresh, Systane, Blink, GenTeal, Theratears, etc.) for a while.” This has not affected prescription drops and you should continue taking your prescriptions drops.
